Going Back to Kenya!

I've been invited to go back to Kenya!  I've joined a team from Rocky Mountain Christian Church...we will head to Nairobi at the end of September.  Please take a minute and read my letter and consider joining my support team!  Thanks!

sorry we haven't been able to update much!  we haven't had much internet time.  You can check out the updates on the church blog   http://www.flatironschurch.com/international/   and a couple of pictures on facebook.  Thanks!!!!  Tomorrow is our last day at Musana...we aren't looking forward to saying goodbye...but we are looking forward to hot showers!!!

We arrived early this morning...drove 4 hours to Iganga...ate chicken on a stick...went to see the kids at Musana...they sang and danced and gave us tours...now we r so tired that we can hardlys think straight...hoping for a great nights sleeeeeppppp! More details when my brain is functioning better!

Heading to Africa in about 24 hours!! My (Tracee) bags are not yet packed...Dave's are mostly packed...tonight we will finish packing and probably have to run to the store one more time. :) Wednesday the 16th a team of 12 of us will jump on a plane and head to Uganda. I am the team leader and excited to take this group on a new adventure! I love walking people through new learning experiences...they will experience a new culture! They will see a children's home that is seeking to be self-sustainable and locally run! They will see kids that are happy to play with non-electronic toys. They will eat new foods, walk through new surroundings and meet new people! Most of all I'm excited for them to fall in love with the kids and staff of Musana, like I did last fall!

Please pray for us as we are all scrambling to get our bags packed...pray for our hearts and minds to be prepared not just our bags!

Dave and I will try to post on this blog as often as we can...hopefully some fun videos and pictures too. BTW if you didn't already know...this is Dave's first cross-cultural experience…he is super excited but a little nervous about the bugs and toilets.  ;-)

I'm Back

I flew in last night...ate a salad, took a hot shower and slept for 12 hours. Ahhhh! Right now I'm feeling a little bit of the afternoon sleepy jet lag feeling. It was a wonderful trip! Thanks for your prayers! I want to write some stories...but for now I'm going to post some pictures.
